@thebrighttapestry You must have never owned a pug, boxer, English bulldog, etc. the list goes on and on full of wonderful breeds that need assistance in delivery. Humans need assistance in delivery so…. By the way, dog breeds are maintained for more than amusement. You wouldn’t say something so gauche if you were a real breeder.

Pugs with health problems are 99% caused by stupid breeders like those who breed for puppy mills and “backyard breeders.” The pug breed should continue, and keep the wonderful tradition that originated back in ancient China. Instead of passing judgement on people, help your local pug rescue.

@Ginpug This is why any animal that could not take care of itself or it’s young on it’s own should not be bred. Pugs have such a multitude of health problems, and as cute and endearing as they are, it is incredibly selfish for people to continue to breed them for their own amusement.

Although there are always exceptions, I’m sure a pug can have puppies without our assistance.

AS a former pug breeder myself, that “lady” did everything right. It is impossible to keep the birthing area “clean” during delivery. Pugs also need help getting their puppies out of the birth sac as their faces don’t allow them to do it without ripping some of the puppies insides out, or at the very least giving them umbilical hernias……just a little whelping education for ya….well done thulasireema
